Top 10 romantic royalty free stock music and audio tracks - envato.com coupon

Nothing says “I love you” better than music that tugs at the heart, and with Valentine’s Day just around the corner, we had a feeling you’d be looking for exactly that. So, this year we’ve decided to play Cupid, and match you with the perfect song to say those three magic words, with a little help from our community. Have a look and a listen to what’s below, and with any luck, you’ll leave our blog having found true love.

Weddings and inspiration

Wedding by AudioPizza

Recommended by BartoMusic

The main melody is catchy and repeats a fair bit, but it’s not fatiguing thanks to the arrangement of this piece. “The track is called “Wedding” but I think it definitely can be used in plenty of inspiring videos,” says BartoMusic. We agree.

Intimate simplicity

Gentle Piano by Cheer

Recommended by Cheer

‘Gentle Piano’ is an exercise in simplicity. But just because it’s simple, doesn’t mean it’s not quietly complex. It’s touching and creates a sense of intimacy that’s perfect for a romantic slideshow, or even a slow dance between you and your loved one. A beautiful track that’s surprisingly adaptable to your brand of romance.

In the Moment of Inspiration

In the Moment of Inspiration by PinkZebra

Recommended by Cheer

This next track is the perfect partner for something visually romantic or inspirational. It’s beautifully layered making it easy on the ears, and although it’s not overly emotional, it’s certainly not empty either. It’s pleasantly beautiful.

Exhilarating and emotional

Friendly Piano by Rejected

Recommended by CyberMusic

This next piece is complex in its arrangement, but in no way overwhelming. It spends the first part of the track building to an exhilarating emotional climax, but then at its height, it calms back down. “I always listen to this when I need some relaxation at work,” says CyberMusic. This is a wonderful companion to visuals that take you on a real journey.

Simply beautiful

You Are Beautiful by Kvancho

Recommended by Shvangiradze

‘You Are Beautiful’ is disarmingly pretty. Mostly piano based, but featuring a welcome undercurrent of strings later in the piece, this track is unabashedly romantic, and built from the ground up to be paired with either a Valentine’s Day commercial, or a direct profession of love. Fellow Envato creator Shvangiradze thinks it’s “the most wonderful and interesting track I’ve ever heard here on AudioJungle.” One thing we can all agree on is that it sure is beautiful.

Inspiring and romantic

Inspiring Piano Solo by AML-Productions

‘Inspiring Piano Solo’ was actually made by ArtArea_Studio as a gift to his wife. A pitter-patter of angelic sounds, this track is both inspiring and romantic, a lovely addition to any project wanting to send an audience’s heartbeat a flutter.

Light and beautiful

Beautiful by AShamaluev

Recommended by Sokolovsky

‘Beautiful’ is a classic, cinematic and romantic track with beautiful piano and strings. Light and calm, it creates a soft atmosphere that will unearth pleasant memories of life and love. A good choice for Valentine’s Day slideshows and ads. It may even suffice for a proposal.

Inspiring and less cliché

To Be Inspired by ALEX_BESSS

Recommended by Splinterfeel

The emotional intensity of this one will creep up on you with its shrewd mix of piano and strings making it both inspiring, and incredibly romantic. It’s less cliché than most choices, so if you’re after something fresh, but incredibly effective for a wedding or anniversary, this is it.

Simple and brilliant

Emotional Piano by BobsMusic

Recommended by MalirecStudio

It’s almost impossible to listen to this and not get tears in your eyes. As MalirecStudio says, “Each note from the very beginning to the end touches my soul. Simple and brilliant.” ‘Emotional Piano’ is a perfect fit for underscoring a journey. It’s restrained, yet touching, and will gently guide any listener to an emotional reaction that will be both heart-felt and optimistic.

Unapologetically uplifting

Sentimental by Alex_MakeMusic

Recommended by Hypnodog

And finally, you just can’t go past the straightforwardly titled ‘Sentimental’. It delivers on exactly what its name promises, offering an unapologetically uplifting composition blending realistic sounding piano, strings, exhilarating drums and the tinkle of a glockenspiel on top. “Each instrument sits in the right place,” says Hypnodog, and right they are.

This is just a taste of the romantic stock music tracks our talented community has suggested. To find more of their curations, head to our forums.

Special thanks to Scott Wills who compiled this list.

Use these 8 stunning lookbook designs to showcase your work - envato.com coupon

Fashion and graphic design make a great aesthetic pair, and this combination is epitomized in the designer lookbook.

A lookbook is a photo showcase of a fashion designer’s latest collection created for marketing efforts and to attract buyers. Photographers, stylists, models, boutique owners, and fashion bloggers also use lookbooks to present their own work or to demonstrate a particular style or trend.

Lookbook projects are stylish, chic and sophisticated and provide a great opportunity for graphic designers to show of their design chops. Collected here are eight stunning lookbook designs from talented creatives at Envato Elements.

Lookbook by Boxkayu

The Lookbook from Boxkayu has a minimalist, cool and spacious look. The ample margins and unconventional overlapping text and image elements are on-trend and give the design an edge. The pastel and neutral photography adds softness to the mood of the design, but a different photographic style could easily be used with this template.

The lookbook has many creative layouts to choose from making it simple to customize for your own projects. The design comes in A4 and letter-size and all fonts in use are free.

Naturalis Lookbook

The Naturalis Lookbook by 46×2 has a nice blend of page layout styles including classic, minimal, grid-based, editorial, and also unconventional. You can tell the designers paid special attention to providing many ways to present images, so this is a particularly good lookbook design for photographers and visualists, in general. The design also has a lovely three column text layout and image-focused table of contents page with nice text overlays. The font pairing in this design is really well done too, giving the design a rustic yet modern look.

Summer Collection Lookbook

The Summer Collection Lookbook by Hencework is bold and modern and has all the page layouts one needs to create a professional quality lookbook. The design has clean and organized layouts with distinct visual hierarchy between typestyles. Details like product color options make it a good ready-made choice for designers.

Botanica Photobook

The Botanica Photobook makes image the focal point and is a good choice for photographers, style and fashion bloggers, or graphic designers. The photobook provides multiple layouts for image collections. Classic and elegant serifed typography is applied to spacious page designs. Botanica also includes a number of additional templates that are useful like an invoice, cover letter, and business card option.

Lookbook #2 by Boxkayu

Another great lookbook design by Boxkayu, this template has a very modern yet simple design with large format images that span the page. The design appears quite easy to modify and the content is very clear and legible. As with their other lookbook, this design has many page layouts including a notes and special thanks option.

Portfolio Lookbook

The Portfolio Lookbook by Egotype has a contemporary, open and professional look and is adaptable for use as either a lookbook or portfolio. The wide-set letter spacing on tag lines and boldly bordered content boxes gives the design a modern edge. The template comes in A4 and US letter-sized and uses only free fonts.

Fashion Lookbook

The Fashion Lookbook from Leone Danieli has a fresh and pop visual aesthetic with colorful layouts. Elegant italicized serifs are used with round geometric type creating an interesting and effective visual contrast between font styles. The template includes portrait and landscape layouts and sixteen unique designs.

Lookbook/Product Catalog

The Lookbook/Product Catalog by Digital_infusion has a luxury feel and stands out for its square format design and heavy modern typestyles. The design has an editorial focus with lots of room for descriptive text for products or trend analysis. Fashion designers, bloggers, jewelers or perfumiers could use this design.

Creative, quirky & beautiful decorative fonts - envato.com coupon

It would take one heck of a brave designer to actually use these fonts on a web page or print magazine. They’ve simply not been designed for clear legibility.

Unlike other, more commonand usable fonts, each of these typefaces have their own individual and unique characteristics. Some might even say they’re a little bit eccentric and odd. I like to think they’re creative, quirky, and in their own way, beautiful.

So, please don’t use these fonts in anything that needs to be clearly read. Really, don’t do that. But if you’re designing a logo, a CD cover, a poster, or even some invites, and are looking to give your typography a touch of unique creativity, then these decorative fonts are most definitely for you.

Avanth Font Family (OTF)

Avanth is an uppercase font family that’s just brimming with personality. Every single one of the letters has been uniquely designed by using some simple geometric shapes like circles, squares and straight lines.

ECHO Typeface (TTF & OTF)

The beautiful ECHO font works best when it’s displayed in all its glory. So display it large. Really large!

Dejavu Font (OTF)

The Dejavu font family has been designed to represent the passing of time. When the time shift is to the left this represents the past, the solid letter represents the present, and when the time shift is to the right this represents the future.

Boxfresh (OTF)

Boxfresh is a big, bold and impressive all-caps display typeface. It’s been designed to work best at large sizes and would be perfect for headlines, posters, flyers, logos and so much more.

Bronx Shoes (TTF & OTF)

Bronx Shoes is a gorgeous vintage-style hand-written font that comes in both regular and line versions.

Amphigory (OTF)

With its retro-inspired curves, high contrast and utter refusal to sit still, the all-caps Amphigory will be sure to leave an impression on any viewer.

Grankenstein (OTF)

Grankenstein is a quirky font that’s been inspired by vintage children’s story books. The serifs are large and spiky, and the letterforms highly irregular. It would be great for fun projects where you want the historical to take on a modern character.

Grankenstein

Qubism (TTF)

Qubism is a highly original font that has been heavily inspired by the art of Pablo Picasso. The font family includes three TTF files that work seamlessly together to recreate the unique Cubist style you can see below.

Qubism

Stonebangs (TTF & OTF)

Stonebangs is a modern take on vintage typefaces. It works great for almost all of your designing needs including headline, labels, logo, etc.

Top 10 free tools for frontend web development - envato.com coupon

Web technologies move so fast that it can be tough to keep up. New tools pop up every year and it seems like old tools often fall by the wayside for newer emerging tech.

Frontend development is a huge part of the web and has grown into its own career path. And whether you look at frontend dev as just another skillset or as a viable career, you’ll need the right tools for the job.

I want to share my top 10 must-have tools for modern frontend development. These are all completely free and they’re mostly webapps made to help you create awesome websites.

1. Grid Guide

01-gridguide-webapp

First on my list is Grid.Guide, a free webapp that lets you generate grids on the fly. This tiny app lets you define custom gutters and columns based on your own grid preferences.

First you input your preferred width for the website along with total number of columns. From there Grid Guide generates a handful of options to pick from.

You can even download a PNG of each grid to import into Photoshop or Illustrator. This makes it so much easier to create new grids from scratch without doing all the calculations manually or relying on a cookie cutter grid library.

2. Foundation

02-zurb-foundation-framework

Most frontend devs prefer Bootstrap and I have to admit it’s great. But Zurb’s Foundation recently got an overhaul and I think it deserves just as much attention.

The Foundation library is just like Bootstrap when it comes with predefined CSS classes for grids, typography, buttons, and other dynamic elements. But the design is a bit simpler so it’s easier to customize a layout that doesn’t look like a generic framework.

And the new Foundation has a sister library called Foundation for Email. This is a framework specifically made for email development.

Both Foundation libraries are fantastic and they’re heavily supported by the Zurb team.

3. CodePen

03-split-layout-codepen

Most developers already know about cloud IDEs and how easy they make frontend development. You can write code from any computer and even save your projects in the cloud to share online.

But even with so many options I have to say CodePen is the best one out there. It’s lightning fast, super reliable, easy to get started and auto-updates whenever you make changes.

Not to mention it also supports almost every library you could imagine. You can write code in LESS or SASS along with preprocessors for HTML like Haml or Slim. And CodePen lets you add external resources so you can use a site like cdnjs to include other relevant libraries.

Hands down this is the best dev tool for writing code and toying with new ideas. There are some alternatives but in my experience nothing can beat CodePen.

4. Unheap

04-unheap-jquery-repository

It’s tough to find a curated list of the newest JS plugins. Most of the time you’ll have to browse through GitHub repos or check Twitter for projects that go viral.

But with a site like Unheap you can quickly browse through the latest jQuery plugins with ease. They’re organized by type like navigation, forms, web media, and other categories.

It’s basically a repository for all the best jQuery plugins on the web. And it’s updated frequently so you can always find new stuff.

5. LivePage

05-livepage-screenshot

Browser extensions are some of the best tools you can use for development. LivePage is a free Chrome extension that’ll auto-update the page whenever you make changes to a local file.

This means you can edit your HTML/CSS/JS files locally and the browser will refresh with each save. It may only take one second to refresh, but do that enough times and you’ll see how annoying it can be.

LivePage also has a companion for Firefox called LiveReload.

6. Fullpage Screen Capture

06-full-page-screenshot

I use this extension all the time and it’s one of my favorite tools when designing a layout. Fullpage Screen Capture lets you pull a full PNG screenshot of an entire website.

You simply click the button in Chrome’s extension panel and it’ll automatically create a full snapshot of a whole website stitched together into one image. You can use this to study designs as a whole which is useful when crafting your own site.

7. WhatFont

07-whatfont-extension-details

Typography is a huge choice for web design and it’s not something to take lightly. Finding the right font can be grueling, but with an extension like WhatFont you can alleviate some of the pain spent searching.

You just add WhatFont to Chrome and whenever you see a font on a website you can click and hover. This gives you all the details including the fonts style, size, and even hosting location if applicable(like TypeKit or Google Webfonts).

8. Node/npm

08-npm-js-homepage

This might be obvious but Node has changed the face of web development. It brought JavaScript to the backend and gave us npm, one of the fastest growing package managers ever.

This is almost a necessity and for good reason. At this point all frontend developers should learn the command line because it’s now an essential tool in the webdev workflow. But npm is also part of this process and it’s fully managed by the command line.

You can pull new packages, update old ones, and there’s a lot you can do with npm scripts too.

If you’ve never tried npm before then I highly recommend dipping a toe to see what all the fuss is about.

9. Mobile Speed Tester

09-techcrunch-mobile-tester-google

Google knows great UX and they’re always trying to help webmasters build better sites. One of their best tools is the Mobile Speed Tester which rates any website’s score based on responsivity and loadtime for desktop and mobile.

It gauges both the speed and user experience of a website to determine if it’s mobile-friendly.

This is far from an exhaustive report and it’s not a replacement for usability testing. But for a free tool this offers some nice feedback and it can get you started on the right track.

10. Responsive Test

10-responsive-test-homepage

Last but certainly not least is the Responsive Test webapp. It’s an open source project released on GitHub that lets you test any website’s responsive design right in your browser.

You simply enter a URL and drag the window to whatever width you’re trying to test for. There are also small buttons for predefined sizes for iPhone, iPad, and generic laptop/desktop resolutions.

There’s another similar tool by Matt Kersley but it doesn’t have adjustable sizes. Instead you get a few predefined windows to use for testing.

Both are excellent tools and they’re much easier than dragging your browser window back and forth.

And with that we’ve reached the end of my top 10! I hope this list can prove useful and I certainly hope there’s at least one thing in this list for everyone.

And since the landscape of frontend development changes so quickly you can expect many more awesome tools in the near future.
